HERE are five tips for mixing metals in a way that is classy and not overtly brassy.

The doorway should create a big impression since it's the first place visitors see when they arrive at the house. First impressions usually stick with you, and its décor establishes the tone for the remainder of the house. Use a metal spiral staircase to make your stairs the center of attention in the room, as staircases are typically found near entryways or are at least visible from them. A spiral staircase, grand, graceful, and self-assured, commands attention in the room as a focal point of design.

A straightforward yet elegant metal tone on the staircase might be sufficiently minimalistic for modern, contemporary homes to maintain its design authority while yet being original. An ornamented metal railing is a smart choice for homes with traditional, vintage, or mid-century architectural styles, as it serves to strategically highlight the unique charm of the property.

One of the easiest spaces to mix and match different metals is the kitchen. For a subtle design, pair white cabinets with stainless steel appliances and a dark bronze lighting fixture. Consider utilizing stainless appliances and black cabinets with a metallic-patterned backsplash for a more striking effect. To add contrast to a white quartz surface, use wrought iron bar stools and contemporary silver or brushed nickel overhead lighting fixtures.

Or, for the more daring decorator, use metallic on the cabinets by painting with metal-inspired jeweled tones and contrasting that bold colour choice with stark white subway tile, white quartz countertops, and stainless appliances. And incorporate a blend of dark bronze in different light features.

Excellent furniture is a fantastic way to incorporate metallic elements into your home. Not all metallic furniture is composed of wrought iron or chrome. Using metallic colors on patterned fabric couches, cushions, or chairs will work just as well as adding wrought iron and chrome elements to the space. Additionally, you may give worn furniture a new lease on life by painting or stenciling items in colors like silver, gold, bronze, or jeweled paint. To update the furniture, replace the worn-out knobs and handles with glistening, elaborate pulls.

A room can incorporate a wide range of metal accessories, such as glass bottles, cast-iron candlesticks, and mirrors with bronze borders, thanks to the metallic trend. Use dark brass faucets and a showerhead, along with oil-rubbed bronze hardware to add some variety to the tiny bathroom. Swap the outdated doorknobs for a range of glass, bronze, silver, and brushed nickel knobs. Finally, embellish with sentimental pieces like an antique headboard for the bedroom or a vintage jewelry box. Arrange sentimental paintings and family photos in a range of metallic frames.

Transforming dull light features into captivating ones is a straightforward undertaking that effectively incorporates the metallic concept. Combine contemporary track lighting and pendant lamps with classic chandeliers with gold finishes. To create a striking contrast between traditional and modern design, use light fixtures with a pewter hue in a modern area. Mixing and matching lamp finishes with lighting fixtures is nothing to be afraid of. You'll notice an inviting, dramatic, and coherent space as you decorate with metals.
