To empower young people in rural Zimbabwe, National Foods Limited has invested in a new egg layer production program. The company has launched the "A Life A Day (ALAD)" program in collaboration with the Community Foundation for the Western Region of Zimbabwe through its stockfeeds division. The initiative, which has aided more than 1,500 young people in different towns around the provinces of Matabeleland North and South, offers resources including laying hens and training in entrepreneurship, business growth, and poultry management. Each participant will be able to start their own egg layer projects, with the option to sell extra eggs for profit. Mike Lashbrook, the CEO of National Foods Group, described the program as a vital effort to develop talent and encourage entrepreneurship.

"We think it is our duty to invest in the next generation by giving young people the tools and chances they need to realize their full potential," stated Lashbrook. "One way we are working to support entrepreneurship and build a talent pipeline that will benefit communities and the broader economy is through the A Life A Day program." The Community Foundation for the Western Region of Zimbabwe's Sithabile Gandi Ndlovu, director of the ALAD program, expressed appreciation for the collaboration.

"We envision young people taking responsibility for their own growth by making intentional decisions that will change their lives and means of subsistence," the speaker stated. "This collaboration with National Foods will spur chances for many households to reduce poverty, generate income, and engage in self-employment. "A Life A Day is a cutting-edge corporate social investment model that has the potential to significantly improve people's lives and present opportunities."
