The house belongs to Dr Dzingai Mutumbuka – Registrar of Deeds

Dr. Dzingai Mutumbuka, Zimbabwe's first minister of education, is the rightful owner of Number 184 Rolf Valley Township (Chisipite), according to Registrar of Deeds Absolom Magwere. Furthermore, he makes it very clear that the document owned by Jonah Ngome, who sold Dr. Mutumbuka's house for US$600,000, is a forgery and a copy of the real one. He further acknowledges that fraudsters using the Deeds Office's computer database altered Dr. Mutumbuka's deed to read Jonah Ngome. There is more to this story than first meets the eye, as Justice Chinamora of the High Court proceeded to order Dr. Mutumbuka's eviction notwithstanding this Registrar of Deeds affidavit. Another intriguing fact is that Ngome, whose whereabouts are unknown and who has never been in court to support his ownership claim, was just 17 years old when he bought the house. For 17-year-olds to purchase such properties, guardian support is necessary. Ngome was born on December 29, 1970, in Mundembe, Mutare. On June 30, 1988, the deed was changed to his name.. Harrison Marange who ‘bought’ Dr Mutumbuka’s House for $40 000 is being represented by Zvavanoda Law Chambers. It has been unable to get in touch with Ngome at the number 0772242063 provided on the sale agreement. Until the conclusion of Dzingai Mutumbuka's urgent chamber application at the Supreme Court, the Sheriff first refused to remove Mutumbuka from his home. The High Court's Justice Esther Muremba, however, returned the urgent chamber application back to Mutumbuka's attorneys, who were then urged to withdraw and resubmit the hybrid case. When they attempted to do so, they were taken aback to learn that the eviction had taken place in less than a day. Dr. Mutumbuka is being represented by Sawyer Mkushi.
