The purpose of the Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA) Youth Desk is to develop young talent and promote innovation in the construction industry. It will formally debut the desk next month. For the ZBCA, the Youth Desk initiative is a turning point because it demonstrates the association's dedication to developing the next generation of leaders and professionals in the construction industry.Zimbabwe's construction industry is expected to grow and flourish, and the Youth Desk will be essential in providing a pool of young people with the necessary skills and knowledge to propel innovation and advancement in the field. At the launch, which is scheduled for May 3 at the Harare International Conference Centre, a large number of young people working in the construction business and seasoned contractors will interact with stakeholders.

Tamuka Chihota, chair of the ZBCA Youth Desk, emphasized the value of funding young talent development in order to maintain the construction industry's long-term viability and competitiveness. He declared, "The Youth Desk's launch symbolizes our commitment to developing the skills and potential of young people who are enthusiastic about pursuing careers in construction." "We think that by giving young people opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and training, we can equip them to become future leaders and innovators in our industry." Chihota stated that a variety of programs and activities catered to the interests and requirements of young people desiring to work in the construction industry would be provided by the Youth Desk.

According to Chihota, "these programs may include networking events, educational seminars, mentorship programs, apprenticeship opportunities, and vocational training workshops." "Youth participants will have the chance to build relationships within the construction community, acquire practical skills, and gain valuable insights by interacting with industry professionals and experts." Prominent people will also grace the launch event, including key government officials, industry titans, and ministers. Chihota praised ZBCA, the parent association, for conceiving of this project. He praised the creation of the Youth Desk as an admirable attempt to develop young people's potential and get them ready for leadership positions in the construction industry.

"I commend the ZBCA for their dedication to making investments in the upcoming generation of construction experts." Chihota stated that the construction industry's direction will be significantly shaped by efforts such as the ZBCA's Youth Desk, particularly as Zimbabwe looks forward to a future of economic growth and infrastructural development.
